Text alerts
HaloSilver offers an optional text alert channel for caregivers, alongside portal and email alerts. This page describes exactly where consent is collected, the exact wording used, and how to stop. It applies to a caregiver’s own mobile number, never the number of the person being protected.
During account sign-up at halosilver.app/get-started, the first step includes an optional field for the caregiver’s own mobile number and a checkbox for text alerts. The checkbox starts unchecked and cannot be checked until a valid mobile number is entered. Nothing is texted, and no number is stored for texting, unless the caregiver enters their number and checks the box themselves.
The checkbox is labeled with this exact sentence, unchanged from what is filed with our carrier registration:
“Text me HaloSilver scam alerts at my number. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.”
Message frequency varies based on scam activity HaloSilver detects for the person you are protecting. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Agreeing to text alerts is never a condition of purchasing or using HaloSilver.
Reply STOP to any HaloSilver text message to cancel text alerts at any time. Reply HELP for help. You can also turn text alerts off, or remove a saved number, from your portal notification settings, or by emailing support@halosilver.app.
HaloSilver carrier registration is in progress. Right now, every alert appears in your portal, and email alerts are delivered if you have opted in. Text delivery begins once carrier registration is approved. Consent collected today carries forward, so there is nothing to redo once texting turns on.
